‘’Adults look upon
a child as something empty that is to be filled
through their own efforts, as something
inert and helpless for which they must do everything, as something lacking an inner guide and
in constant need of inner direction. . . . An adult who acts in this way, even
though he may be convinced that he is filled with zeal, love, and a spirit of
sacrifice on behalf of his child, unconsciously suppresses the development of the child's own personality.’’ Maria
Montessori
‘’Imagination
does not become great until human beings, given the courage and the strength,
use it to create.” Maria Montessori
‘’If formal instruction is introduced too early, too intensely and too
abstractly, the children may indeed learn the instructed knowledge and skills, but they may do so at the expense of the
disposition to use them.’’ Lillian Katz
‘’Each of us must come to care about everyone else’s children…., I think
this is huge! Our children’s success impacts positively on other children and
by extension the wider society and our children’s failure impacts negatively on
other children as well as the society.’’ Lillian Katz"

passion is to make sure that all children were taught in environment that truly
nurture their ability to grow and develop to their fullest potentials’’-Louise

I always wanted to be a teacher. I had, I
think, a built-in passion that it was important to make a real contribution to
the world, to fix all the injustices that existed in the world. And I wanted to
do that through teaching."

‘’When I think of the word
passion and the meaning to the word passion, what comes to mind are what are my
values, what are my beliefs, what are the ideas that lead me to action, what do
I do so naturally that perhaps seems natural to me but may be challenging to
others.’’

‘’My
passion is to bring my ideas in action, into changing policy, into changing practice
and influencing research.’’ --Leticia
Lara, LCSW,
Vivain I agree with the quote about each of us coming to care about everyone else's child. That was very popular during the time I was growing up. Nowadays most people do not properly raise their own children so it is highly unlikely that they will come to be concerned with someone else's child. Sad, but true!
ReplyDeletevery sad my dear but thank God for a few of us. evil can never prevail over good. we will keep the tempo going
ReplyDeleteI enjoy your quote from Leticia Lara, LCSW. I was just mentioning the other day to a co-worker that everything/most things I do have a rhyme or reason. To get me to the next level so that I can truly change the lives of other.
ReplyDelete‘’Imagination does not become great until human beings, given the courage and the strength, use it to create.” Maria Montessori
ReplyDeleteThis is a wonderful quote. We need to teach our children to always think outside of the box. They should not be afraid to go beyond the norm.
yes, self confident is very important. believe in your abilities. dont be afraid of failing. i like one of the quotes of Brain Tracy it says ''To overcome fear, act as if it were impossible to fail, and it shall be.''
ReplyDeleteThe quote from Maria Montessori which you used was a great one because we all forget sometimes the strength we have within. Continue to bless my thoughts with your God given blessings. Thank you
ReplyDeleteI would like to agree with Towanda on the quote by Lillian Kantz regarding everyone helping to raise everyone's elses children. I am in total agreement with this quote because of the fact that in my years of working as a teacher I have seen parents coming into the school complaining because they didn't want anyone telling their children what to do and also in the community where children are practically raising themselves and parents getting angry if someone tries to tell their child what to do.
ReplyDeleteThanks Manning, most parents are practically demostrating their ignorance. there is a local parlence in my culture that says 'No one person trains a child' this makes you look out for someone else child as others will look out for yours and in turn we have healthy community. the truth is that we need each other. parents that come to complain about somebody telling their child what to do is already in a mess because they can never do it alone. i hope they realise this. do have a lovely week.
