A child drawing

Looking at this child drawing, you will notice that the child is able to concentrate in what she is doing, hence the thinking ability, is being developed.
Art is a very important medium in child’s development. Art work helps a child to discover the joy of translating thoughts and imagination to visual impression.  Drawing helps a child express itself and be creative. Drawing is a natural mode of communication that children rarely resist and that offers a way to express feelings and thoughts.

  2. I definitely agree with art being a means for children to visually express themselves and is a medium in a child's development. What wonderful imaginations can be expressed on paper. I once had a teacher tell me to discipline my child, at the time 2 years old, because he could not color inside the lines. I politely asked her how many job applications had she completed which required her to know how to color inside the line. I instructed her to give him blank sheets of paper as opposed to ditto sheets so that I can see what he wanted to draw rather than something she wanted him to color. I was certain his fine motor skills would develop just the same!

  3. Drawing is an excellent way for children to communicate and express themselves. It also builds fine motor skills which are essential in the early years of learning.
